What is Basal Metabolic Rate?
Basal metabolic rate (BMR) is the amount of energy expended while at rest surrounded by a neutrally lukewarm environment, in the post-absorptive state (meaning that the digestive system is still, which requires about twelve hours of fast in humans).
The minimum amount of zest used by the body to maintain essential functions.
I believe it's the rate at which your body burns calories at rest. But I could be wrong. Here's a link because I don't perceive like reading and interpreting...
